Big Data in the SMB… Headache or Golden Opportunity?

I have been spending a good amount of time with our early access program customers and recently I had a conversation with one company about the view of big data in their business. This customer is a small business by most definitions.  They generate under $1 million in revenue, have less than 10 employees, have an IT army of one who wears the important CIO hat as well, but they have mounds and mounds of data.  They are an information company in the world of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) managing 10’s of terabytes today and growing fast with little end in sight.

As we were discussing what the challenges are they face as a company managing this data, the conversation took a turn quickly to potential opportunities.  This company is very forward thinking and realizes that the mounds of data that they have stored in their SaaS offering is a gold mine, they just haven’t figure out how to refine out the 24k gold in the nuggets of spinning disks.   The headache they face is how to tap this information.  They can’t justify a staff of data scientists to build algorithms and models to start this refinement process, but they know once a model is available, the refinement process can become automatic and will generate revenue.

Enter DataGravity and the innovative solution we are bringing to market.  When we approached our trusted circle of friends who are open to embracing new technology to take this journey with us, this company was right there eager to participate.  They realize that we are aspirin to this headache and our unique data engine is a well oiled refinement process for turning spinning nuggets of data into a refined 24k gold stream of information that just increases in value to their business over time.  How we achieve this alchemy is still under wraps, but we are validating it is taking the Big Data concerns in the SMB from headaches to profitable opportunities.

Our entire team truly values our early access program customers who are worth more than their weight in gold to us at DataGravity helping us do a little bit of refinement as well polishing our edges and validating our solution.

The end result is worth the wait and luckily you won’t need a chunk of gold to afford the value we will deliver for your company too.
