DataGravity launches early-access program for channel partners

Today at VMware Partner Exchange 2014 in San Francisco, we launched our early access program for DataGravity channel partners, and it’s just the beginning of our outreach to the reseller community.  The theme for this year’s Partner Exchange, “Master the New Reality” is very apropos as we strike out to fundamentally change how businesses gain insights into their unstructured data. We are bringing a new reality to the table for our partners, as well. The next evolution in storage is coming, and DataGravity will deliver the solution that partners will leverage to grow their businesses.

The thought of building another reseller community at DataGravity is really exciting for us. Our co-founders, Paula Long and John Joseph, have a strong legacy of being 100-percent channel committed and successful at their previous venture, EqualLogic. My career has also been dedicated to driving highly enabled and productive channel partners in delivering disruptive technology to their customers.

The partner conversations I’ve had since the early days of DataGravity have been encouraging and educational. There is a tremendous demand for new technology in both mid-sized and large companies that is being well served by a vibrant partner network. We’re learning that the partner model is evolving into a more diversified revenue stream for both partners and tech companies alike, driven by cloud-like SaaS models and shifting trends in IT spending decisions and evolving buying centers. In addition, early customer access to our emerging technology supports our assertion that companies want to get insights from their data in a simple and cost-effective way.

Over the last 10 years, the system integrator product offerings have had to evolve to profitably sustain solution providers. Virtual machine technology hit the scene in a big way around 2004, bringing with it a whole new wave of infrastructure refresh requirements.  These requirements included the need for enhanced management tools to provision, manage and protect these new workspaces. Hundreds of tech companies made their mark by being the reference architecture for VMware, Hyper-V or a Citrix platform during that period. The P-V migration has continued unabated since then. The industry is primed again for the next wave of innovation.

The next paradigm shift is coming with DataGravity. We are evolving storage into something much more than just a data repository. The DataGravity solution, which is now open to partners for a first look through our early-access program, represents a fundamental change in how businesses will learn and gain insights from their unstructured data.
