NEVCA Throws a Party to Celebrate Region’s Startup Community

When we stepped into New England Venture Capital Association’s second annual NEVY awards a few weeks back, it was clear that we weren’t going to some stale awards ceremony. NEVCA threw a great party at Boston’s House of Blues, and the gathering of more than 700 venture capitalists and entrepreneurs showed just how hot the startup scene is in New England.

DataGravity team members Devlyn Coelho, John Joseph, Jeff Boehm, Michael White, Tim Sherbak, our PR team and Steve Kearns stop for a picture on the dance floor.

The NEVYs gave our team the chance to eat, drink, dance and hang out with other companies in the area that are building the next generation of solutions that will matter far beyond our own region.

The official agenda for the evening was to recognize rising stars, major deals and exits, and VCs and entrepreneurs of the year. We were in great company in our category, Deal of the Year – Tech. (Congrats to our fellow nominees, Applause, Belmont Technology, Datto and Simplivity, and to the winner, DraftKings.) Unofficially, the NEVYs were about celebrating with a thriving startup community and taking a few spins under the disco ball.

It’s going to be a busy summer at DataGravity, but we’re planning to take the crew to VMworld in August. Are you going? Let us know @DataGravityInc.
